Currently Living at the shelter, Squirrel needs both a foster and a forever home!

Looking for a small but energetic dog to keep moving throughout the day and amuse you with his antics?  Then meet Squirrel, an adorable little Jack Russell Terrier mix.  JRTs are known for being whip smart, energetic and incredibly bold despite their small size. It's fair to say that life is never dull with a JRT around the house.

Squirrel is likely to be a high energy dog who will need serious daily exercise. Whoever adopts Squirrel must be committed to providing him with the physical and mental activity that he needs. A bored and restless JRT will look for ways to amuse himself and that might not be what you want.

Mental stimulation will also be good for Squirrel so he can put his clever mind to good use. Squirrel will benefit from obedience training so he can learn what you want from him and how to do his very best. Watch him closely around other dogs as JRTs are fearless and may challenge dogs much bigger than they are if they feel threatened.

Like most shelter dogs, Squirrel may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained. Squirrel has lived with dogs and with kids but has not yet been tested with cats.
